Morning Breakout 1: Recruiting a Diverse Educator Workforce
What does the evidence say about the impact teachers of color have in the classroom? How do Educator Preparation Programs, districts, and schools attract and recruit educators of color to enter the profession?
Morning Breakout 2: Preparing a Diverse Educator Workforce
How are North Carolina’s Educator Preparation Programs currently working to support future educators of color and ensure that all new educators are prepared to support a diverse range of students in a culturally competent classroom? How can EPPs and districts work together to support the placement of beginning teachers?
Morning Breakout 3: Retaining a Diverse Teacher Workforce
Attendees will be grouped by profession and will hear from leaders in their field who are directly working to improve educator diversity in North Carolina and across the country. Each group will be provided with guiding questions and discussion protocols.
